Hey Guys,

How are you all doing? Here are some sketches I did.. The ones on the top are quick.. some are studies from other artist, some are from out of my head.. mostly the ones on the bottom though. I am trying to get back into drawing figures.. too many props, vehicles, and backgrounds lately!

The vehicle sketches were quick ideations for a class im taking with Andy Chung. He's a super cool teacher, and Im learning a lot. Will be a full on traditional class, with only markers, chalk, and gouache. I cant fuckin wait to get to the end!!!

Hey Guys! Today, our group went to the infamous Suicide Bridge of Pasadena. It was REALLY nice there. I was really surprised. I am def. going back there one day!

First painting took a long time.. I was still trying to figure out how to work gouache.. REALLY rusty.. 2nd one was a quickie, and I had to leave it as it was. Hopefully Ill have more finished stuff soon!

Hey Guys! I hope all of ya'll are doing great. I just went painting with some friends of mine today at the El Matador State Park down in Malibu. It was great...! Hopefully, I can start making these things weekly. Ill probably be heading to Eaton Canyon in Altadena if anyone wants to come. Hit me up! Love to meet new people. Also, a few of my friends will be joining. Digital or traditional is all cool.. whatever you're in the mood for..!

These paintings started off with simple line drawings. Then I went into paint. The 1st painting took around 30 mins, the 2nd 40ish mins. I am pretty rusty, since it's been nearly 9 months since I last touched paint..!! What a shame. My Scanner isnt really good at picking up the colors/values.. But this will make due for now. Hopefully you guys can join! Let me know if you want to come!

Hey Guys! So I recently heard about a new Conference in Italy called VIEW! VIEW Conference is the most important event in Italy on Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 3D Animation, Gaming and VFX.

The Conference takes place in Turin, from Tuesday, Oct. 25th to Friday, Oct. 28th 2011.

VIEW Conference is followed by VIEWFest, which is the most important Digital Movie Festival in Turin.

This year their dates are from 21st to 23rd October 2011.

Lucia Modesto held the role of Supervising Character Technical Director on Megamind, Shrek the Third, Dragon Trainer, as well as on Shrek 2and the Academy Award® winning Shrek.

Specializing in character set-up, Modesto is responsible for supervising and setting up the animation joints, motion animation controls, facial animation, deformations, hair and non dynamic clothing setups.

Modesto started her career at PDI/DreamWorks Animation in 1997, working for the first computer animated film Antz, after developing for two years the technology which would be used for the first animation project, realized for TV Globo.

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Modesto was educated as an electronic engineer at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She later received a Masters Degree in Quantum Electronics and Applied Optics at UCLA. Ahh Hey guys! Here is another study I did. I didnt get to spend as much time as I wanted to on this one, but I was trying to practice my indications and work on perspective cues. Obviously, most of the time was focused on the floor or the higher parts of the mountain... But ya! I hope you guys like it! I gotta work on more edge and surface variety in my next few studies!

Hello All!

Here was some stuff I did for Cave Story. The yellow image was a quick sketch, for promotional reasons.. The Prinny image was actually featured in Nintendo Power!! And it was also on Kotaku! I had the great honor to work with Nicalis/NIS for the first half of the year. They're really great. Thanks for having me guys!

I also had the great pleasure to work on the Cover Artwork for the game.. Ill post that soon. Meanwhile, some more stuff from last year!

herro guys,

Here are some paintings I did for Robh Ruppel's class. These are from imagination. He's a really great teacher, and I am really grateful that I had the opportunity to take his class. Along with taking other great landscape classes, I have also been forced to look more closely at professional and master plein air artist. Crits are always welcomed. I still need to improve upon a lot. But I think this would be a ok place holder for now :). I hope everyone is doing well in the cold winter...!

Ayyyy guys! Hope all is well. Here's a mech (or three mechs xD) from last summer. This was a project where I had to design three mechs, and make the designs look cohesive. anyways, here it is! I started this with a sketch, and cleaned up the drawing in photoshop. No sketchup or 3d was used.And this was done as a quick sketch/painting. I loveeeeeeeeee (yes love) Mugen. He is the most badass character!!!

This was my First key scene I did for Color Theory class.

This was the scene where Peter Pan had trouble attaching his shadow in the Darling house. In the huge struggle, he woke up and startled Wendy. Eventually, though, Wendy helps Peter sew back his shadow.

A view outside of the art center library. It was sorta hard to do this one because the lighting kept changing. It was a fun experience though. This was heavily inspired by the artist Robh Ruppel. His work is awesome!

Here's my final pieces from Viscom.
How we started the project was that the teacher assigned us 100 thumbnails - one for each subject.. so basically 25 for each final piece. Along with that, we had to give them 6 refinements for each piece, then end up with the last one.

My concepts:

First piece is the Siamese twins. What I thought bout while creating the character was that the ship they piloted had enough space for only two people- since it was a small and quick ship. What if i designed a character around that concept that only took up one seat instead of two? That would keep the ship far more compact, and would be more compact.. I didnt design the ship for them though, I chose to do the other one.

2nd Piece is my Airship. This was the one that fought against the towns, while the smaller, quicker ship tried to destroy them. It was said to be a huge and massive ship. I chose to do huge gear that surrounded the ship because the theme of this project was steampunk. I thought that was most suitable and gave it that feel the most, along with the colors.

3rd piece is my environment - the valley of the morning. This is basically the 'grave yard' for the Airship (the 2nd piece). Thus the gears fall into this valley, creating huge archs. Other pieces fall into the valley as well... creating garbage on the floor. It was said to be foggy, and much like the yellow mountains of china.

4th is the Hornet Hanger. This is where the small airships reside. My concept was much like a watch with revealing gears. Those gears power the buildings and extract water from the lake that it is sitting on. That is where the power comes from (because it is a steam punk project). Small doors are there to allow other hornets in.

Here's a quick peek on what i've been up to in Viscom3. Pretty shitty layout.. ya I agree. haha.
I chose to choose Russia as the creator of my airship. The colors, and steampunk remind me of Russia. Anyways.. this is basically what Ive been up to so far.. Wish me luck for finals!
